After many months as an apprentice league, it has finally been announced that RSRD is now the newest full member of the Womans Flat Track Derby Association! We would like to thank the efforts for all the people that have dedicated their time and love to help the Red Stick team earn its place with WFTDA.
For those who haven’t heard, the Red Stick Diables Rouges took home 4th place in yesterday’s Southern Belle Ringer tournament! Show these awesome ladies some love!
Red Stick Roller Derby will be playing in the first ever Southern Belle Ringer Tournament this weekend in Mississippi! Be sure to wish them luck!
DIG Magazine’s Emily Nemens writes “Belle on Wheels – Baton Rouge’s burgeoning Roller Derby team goes for the gold”. This weekend, one group of local athletes won’t be watching the LSU/Alabama game. Instead, they’ll be competing for a title of their own. A caravan of women that includes a librarian, moms, a public defender, nurses, students, and a microbiologist will travel from Baton Rouge to Gulfport, Mississippi. RSRD is proud to take part in the 25th annual Take Back the Night candelight march in honor of victims of sexual and domestic abuse. Please join us at the LSU memorial tower on Sunday Oct.23rd at 6 pm. All are welcome to join.
