RSRD All-Stars Top Spindletop On the Road

Your Red Stick Roller Derby All-Stars traveled to Beaumont, TX this past Saturday, May 11, where they topped the Spindletop Rollergirls.

Spindletop jumped out to an early 6-1 lead over your All-Stars, but after a scoreboard correction and steady play, the AS were on top.  After 5 minutes of play, the All-Stars had a 23-6 lead, never giving it up for the remainder of the game.  In the first half, Spindletop was held to just 11 points to your All-Stars‘ 125.

At the beginning of the second half, Spindletop shifted their strategy and was able to get things going early, but the All-Stars continued to clamp down on defense, and, as stated above, when the clock struck zero, the AS were able to walk away with a victory, scoring 215 more points than their opponent.  Final score: 283-68.

Your All-Stars are now 2-1 on the season and 4-0 all-time against Spindletop.

Red Stick Roller Derby is back in action this Saturday, May 18, with the Capital Defenders hosting the East Texas Bombers at Leo’s Rollerland for Heroes on the Flat Track.

Your All-Stars are back at home on June 22, hosting a rematch with Spindletop.
